Engineering Test Technician

 

Nilfisk-Advance, Inc., the world?s premiere manufacturer of battery and engine-powered floor cleaning equipment, has a challenging opportunity available for a Test Technician in the Engineering Department.  This position offers a wide variety testing duties.

 

DUTIES:

 Confer with engineering personnel to review test plans, such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests.Build and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical test fixtures.Program a wide variety of test control equipment from PLC?s to simple timers. 

? Monitor and maintain test samples, controls and instruments during test period. Obtains data from high speed acquisitions systems and from hand held instruments.Enter test data and results into computer database for engineer's use, utilizing engineering principles and test technology.

? Recommend changes in test methods or equipment for engineering review.

? Monitor and work with field test site representatives

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

? Fluid power certificate or an equivalent level of related experience.

? Experience working in a Product Development (Engineering) department.

? Familiar with meeting project schedules.

? Experience with prioritizing competing tasks

? Minimum 3 years of testing experience in electrical or hydro-mechanical components

? Knowledge of standard hand tools and measurement devices such as multi-meters

? Basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret simple mechanical drawings

? Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form

? Working knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics.  Ability to read basic schematics and knowledge of basic principals and familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical components.

? Experience with battery or engine-powered industrial trucks or outdoor equipment is a plus.

? Good driving record and experience with towing small trailers

? Ability to plan and organize

? Good oral and written communication skills

? Familiar with MS Word, Excel, ability to learn new software
