Enterprise & Data Architect - DoD Program

Program Overview:SAIC is part of the Lead System Integrator (LSI) team for the U.S. Army Future Combat System (FCS). The team was awarded a $21 billion contract to execute the FCS System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase. SAIC?s SDD contract is for $2.75B and runs through 2014. This contract places the LSI team in a unique partnership role with the government on a program key to the U.S. Army transformation goals.

Scope:
The FCS Logistics Requirements and Readiness (LRR) (Integrated Product team) IPT Data Architect responsibilities include:
? Perform data modeling and data integration activities within the LRR Team in support of the development and maintenance of the FCS Brigade Combat Team Information Model (BCTIM).
? Execute the role of IPT Data Focal, which includes the following:
o Coordinate the development of data classes used in the IPT sub-models
o Enforce consistent usage of approved data classes within the IPT
o Enforce use of the core LDM to develop DE models within the IPT
o Negotiate changes to the core LDM requested by the IPT with the SSEI Data Architecture Team?s liaison for the BCTIM in accordance with the FCS UML configuration management process
o Support software developers and other consumers to ensure their needs are met by data modeling products
o Audit the use and extension of core LDM data classes in the IPT?s sub-model
o Identify data classes that are semantically similar between developers
o Identify data classes that are semantically similar to the data classes in the core LDM
o Audit IPT-developed model packages to ensure data modeling guidelines are followed
o Identify core LDM data classes that need to apply to the common data model
o Audit data classes to ensure that required profile information is captured in them
o Support the alignment of BCTIM development priorities and activities with the IPT?s software build schedule.
? Provide review and recommendations, as requested by the Chief Data Architect, in the identification, selection, and compliance with Army, DoD, and Joint information architectures, data exchange standards, data definitions, reference or standard data models, and data management plans, policies, and strategies.
? Facilitate use of the Information Architecture processes across FCS IPTs and ensure they are provided with and working from correct and appropriate SoS Information Architecture/model products.
? Work with other FCS IPTs and Data Focals to create Data Views that are consistent/integrated with the SoS Information Architecture.
? Participate in the Data Architect Council of Architects meetings and data model reviews to represent the IPT Data View and support integration of IPT data artifacts within the BCTIM.
? Socialize, promote and ensure an appropriate level of consistency of approach within the IPT for FCS Information Architecture processes and products.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 9+ years experience. Advanced degree preferred. Must be a proven self-starter; have a successful background in data architecture process/product definition and development; have experience in developing/integrating data models in UML, preferably using Rational Rose; and process a strong background in both E/R modeling and object-oriented methodologies. Position will require travel estimated at 15%.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Background in US Army (combat arms) and general US Army domain and operational understanding/experience ? particularly as it applies to tactical military systems; experience with: deriving CADM-compliant DODAF products from architecture models, Joint/DoD/Army data standards, C2IEDM, service-oriented architectures; DoD Net-Centric architecture; spiral software development, ClearCase, and Microsoft Office products.  Please apply below or to kregert@saic.com
