Equipment Engineer

This position is for CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) equipment engineer. This position is responsible for the sustaining and continuous improvement of the Gresham Fab's CMP equipment.

This position must facilitate Natural Work Groups, including the design and implementation of equipment improvements. The majority of the CMP area's equipment is no longer fully supported by the original equipment supplier. The engineer must be capable of doing revisions and improvements in-house or through outside design and fabrication facilities.

This position must assist in the development and management of the maintenance technicians. Presently a staff of 12 maintenance techs staff the department in order to keep the equipment running on a 24x7 schedule. The equipment engineer must be flexible and capable of working with shift personnel as required to drive improvements. This work includes driving improvements to equipment and procedures that will increase the productivity of the area. Presently the shear ratio of the maintenance crew to the equipment engineers does not allow sufficient time for this activity.
BS or equivalent degree is required. A strong background in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required. Effective communication with process engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and facility groups is required. Effective communication writing procedural specifications is required. Ability to work in cross-functional groups to solve problems is required. Reading and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics is required. Effectively designing and integrating hardware changes to existing equipment is required.
