Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Electrical/Manufacturing Engineer

Tyco Thermal Controls - Tracer Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer in Houston. We are developing an innovative product with one of our major customers and are constructing a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. 

 

This opportunity offers the right candidate the ability to make a difference as part of an elite team that is working on the cutting edge.The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key team member who is responsible for the successful start-up and continued operation of a new specialty cable manufacturing operation.  He or she must work closely with the Project Manager, the machinery manufacturer and the customer.  He or she will develop processes and training and maintenance plans.  Once the facility is up and running, the Manufacturing Engineer will manage the maintenance function and process improvements and will have overall responsibility for product quality and plant safety.

 

Fundamental Accountabilities Include:

 
Coordinate successful installation and start-up of cable mill.

 
Develop maintenance and training plans for cable mill team

 
Maintain documentation and maintenance systems, to ensure operational objectives are met (productivity, quality, etc.) including assisting in troubleshooting when needed.

 
Deliver orders within specifications to customer in cost effective and safe manner.

 

Essential Experience, Knowledge, Certification and Education

 

?  BS in Engineering with electrical bias (EE or ME with electrical experience)

 

?  Computer literate ? can use wide variety of windows programs

 

?  Minimum 5 years industrial experience in metal extrusion, forming and welding (cable or tube mill)

 

?  Minimum two years manufacturing operations experience in a leadership role

 

?  Working knowledge of Six Sigma concepts with experience applying them in at least two projects/systems.

 

?  Experience in understanding and programming PLC?s

 

?  Two years managing maintenance systems in industrial environment

 

?  Managed install/major upgrade project in industrial environment
