Experienced Project Engineer

Houston Service Industries, Inc. is a dynamic, growing organization providing a full line of cast iron, multistage centrifugal blowers with controls, motors and accessories.  Our products meet a broad range of municipal and industrial multistage blower applications.  We also provide a complete array of aftermarket parts and services including in-factory blower overhauls & re-rates, on-site troubleshooting & repair, and preventive maintenance plans.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering services to various HSI operating entities including but not limited to project management, design and drafting.  The successful candidate will be able to perform technical presentations and provide overall technical support.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 -Assume project management responsibilities on certain jobs to assure completion within customer requirements

 -Perform engineering calculations, project design, and structural analysis

-Develop product specifications and installation instructions

-Prepare factory data sheets for use by manufacturing

-Standardizations of product designs, technical procedures, design, engineering, and drafting

-Select and approve materials of construction including alternatives

-Support development of new product lines and improvement to existing products

-Investigate HSI blower and blower product related problems and incidents

-Professionally interact with customers for presentations, design input and technical support

-Train HSI engineering and drafting personnel and provide technical support to all HSI operating entities

-Assist HSI Engineering Manager with special projects, tasks, and sales support

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Must have a Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering

-Minimum of two to five years of experience in a comparable position with a company engaged in similar activities

-Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications

-Must be an effective planner and organizer capable of making quick decisions when necessary

-Must be a team player with a ?can do? attitude

-Must have good oral and written communication skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATONS:

-Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required

-Management and supervisory experience

-Working knowledge of the latest release of AutoCAD

-Working knowledge of Microsoft systems and software

-Computer literate with a programming background

-Familiarity with machining, welding and foundry operations
