Experienced Rolling & Z Mill Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a manufacturing engineer with very strong equipment skills to integrate a new rolling mill into its wire manufacturing plant.  This experience will be utilized in the design phase of a production z-mill as well as during the acceptance testing and commissioning the mill for production.  Ultimately, this engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical program for the deformation sequence for thin metal foils on this new mill.

 

Responsibilities of this position include reviewing existing rolling processes and equipment, and the functional requirements of the mill with engineers and scientists, coordinating design reviews with the mill manufacturer, monitoring the mill manufacturer?s performance to schedule, completing the acceptance testing of the mill, coordinating the installation, and completing the commissioning.  The commissioning of the mill will include: writing operating instructions, training the production personnel, and setting up the proper maintenance procedures.  After the mill is commissioned the engineer will be responsible for optimization and transfer into a manufacturing environment. After the mill is transitioned into manufacturing, the engineer will be responsible for process improvements related to product quality, process throughput, and equipment up time. .

 

 

Requirements & Experience:

 BS degree in Engineering or Metallurgy  plus a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated relevant manufacturing experienceIndustrial Experience in the following areas:  Procurement of equipment, setting up rolling mills for production, and manufacture of thin metal foils with z-mills. Must have experience commissioning capital equipment for a manufacturing facility.  Strong knowledge of metal deformation and rolling mills.  Knowledge of maintenance procedures for rolling mills. Project management.Strong understanding of quality improvement techniques applied in a production / manufacturing environmentSelf-starter and independent working attributes are essentialGood oral and written communication skillsExperience with MS Office software, including Excel, Word and ProjectTeam player
