FBCB2 Satellite Systems Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT) program. Candidate will provide the technical leadership, management and guidance in all aspects of satellite systems development and test for the FBCB2-BFT program. Candidate will provide the FBCB2 management team with design, testing and logistics support for the new FBCB2-BFT Satellite Network. Responsible for review of component specifications, interface control documents and test procedures for satellite communications subsystems. Participate in and witness acceptance testing for satellite system component, subsystem and system level testing.
Experience in the following areas is required:
o Minimum 10 years working experience in satellite communications and networking.
o Minimum of 5 years experience in writing and/or reviewing component level specifications/requirements for satellite communications equipment.
o Minimum 5 years of field integration and testing and/or witnessing of testing of satellite communications equipment.
o Strong working knowledge of test procedures for satellite based communications systems.
o Ability to work with minimal supervision, do multitasking and function under pressure.
o Excellent verbal and written communications skills, demonstrated ability to interface with program management, customers, suppliers and peers
o Extensive travel to various CONUS and limited travel to OCONUS locations.
o U.S. Citizenship required.
Experience in the following areas is an asset:
o Digital Communications including TDMA and CDMA modulation advanced forward error correcting coding.
o Network protocols including TCP/IP, Multicast IP.
o Propagation effects of moving vehicles on satellite communications.
o Microsoft Office applications including MS Project.
o Experience in satellite ground equipment hardware design, requirements definition and testing.
o Secret Clearance or ability to qualify for clearance is desirable.
