FIELD ENGINEER

Job Description: 1. Performs RF planning for HNS AB9000 microwave links (point-to-point and point-to-multipoint)

2. Performs site survey for RF planning and AB9000 microwave equipment installation.  This includes verifying line-of-sight for microwave links, recommending antenna locations on building rooftops or cellular towers along with necessary types of mounts and masts, verifying equipment room infrastructure required for indoor microwave and other telecommunication equipment.

3. Generates and updates engineering packages for equipment installation at selected microwave equipment sites.

4. Identifies and acquires third-party equipment and installation materials

5. Performs installation and service techniques on telecommunications systems.  Performs integration tests, fault isolation, and troubleshooting on telecommunication equipment.  Installs, operates, maintains, and supports customer equipment.  Prepares reliability and performance analysis and reports, interfaces with customers, and supports customer training.  Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

6. There will be a significant amount of travel in this position (more than 80%).

 

Qualifications:

Requires a BS EE, CS or equivalent combination of education and experience, as well as 2-4 years relevant work experience.  Must have RF background. Working knowledge of microwave equipment, or cellular equipment at a minimum. Must have working knowledge of T1 transmission systems.
