FLEET ENGINEER

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Fleet Engineer at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The Electronics Division manufactures and distributes specialty gases and liquids for high technology industries. Products are manufactured, transfilled and shipped to global markets in a variety of specialized containers including transportable vehicles, pressure vessels and cylinders. The fleet size has increased significantly in the last 4 years and continues to grow. This fleet is required to operate safely and reliably within a growing regulatory environment.
The size and technical complexity of this fleet have created the need for an additional fleet engineer.
Job Description:
This engineer will work as a member of the ESM Fleet Team within the Supply Chain organization to manage all activities associated with getting the optimum container to market and returned for fill. The individual will have technical responsibilities for packages and associated equipment, valves, piping, etc.

The job responsibilities are broad and will include:

New Container Design and Manufacture.
Container Product Engineering
Supplier Management
Operations Support
Regulatory Code Compliance
Maintenance and Repair of Containers
Productivity Improvement programs

Candidates should possess:
BS ME + 5 years related experience.
Pressure vessel and piping design experience. Knowledge of ASME Sec 8 Div 1, B31.3. Familiarity with vessel manufacturing facilities. Knowledge of fabrication techniques and procedures, e.g. welding, NDT, pressure testing, etc.
Knowledge of regulations and laws pertaining to over the road equipment would be advantageous.
