MACTEC has an immediate need for a Facilities Business Unit Leader to lead the efforts in our Los Angeles Office.  Local Candidates preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Leads and directs technical and management programs, projects (multiple and individual), with overall project/program management responsibility.

Manages projects and has responsibility to commit company resources, as well as manages the technical process.

 

Recognizes, initiates, and advances business development opportunities.  Market facility services to existing (client maintenance) and new clients.  Facilitates marketing programs to promote the growth of the service line.  Will participate in and/or lead tracking, pursuit and proposal efforts required for significant winning key projects or clients.

 

Manage and develop staff, and manage succession planning.

Manage project budget and administer contracts

 

Requirements:

 

Candidates must have a BS in architecture or engineering and possess a Professional Engineering License.

 

Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in engineering, architecture, or facilities management with strong working knowledge of building systems, such as roofing, pavements, facades / curtain walls, MEP, structural systems.


Strong involvement in professional organizations (RCI, BOMA, ICRI, ASBO, IREM, etc.), and in property management, universities, and schools systems networks.


Should have some experience in consulting and in marketing of professional services.

 

Experience with design management or construction management is desirable.


Must have very strong leadership abilities and the ability to mentor facilities staff at the branch level, facilitate dialogue and communications related to marketing and project execution, and guide the facilities marketing efforts.
