Fatigue Testing Technician

Job Description

LSP Technologies, Inc. is a leader in developing advanced processes and systems that use high energy laser systems to strengthen and test materials.  We are seeking an experienced technician to support fatigue testing.  Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.  A benefits package including medical and 401k will be provided. Reasonable relocation expenses will be reimbursed.

 

Duties could include:

Installation, operation, and maintenance of test equipment related to fatigue testing of metals and parts.

Sample preparation

Installation of strain gages on test articles and set up of related instrumentation.

Operation of data acquisition systems.

Operation of machining equipment, such as wire EDM equipment for sample preparation.

 

Required skills:

Work from oral and written instructions, instruction packages, mechanical drawings and rough sketches.  Set up, test, operate, and maintain mechanical systems and instrumentation.  Strong aptitude with mechanical systems and instrumentation.

 

Required qualifications:

A technical or associates degree is required.

Experience with mechanical/fatigue testing equipment and related instrumentation is required.

U. S. Citizenship; must be able to qualify for U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.

 

Desired qualifications:

Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with data acquisition and analysis software and hardware is desirable.
