Description:

 

Working closely with Marketing, Sales, and Applications Engineering, the Applications Engineer will be responsible for developing, installing, and field troubleshooting process spectroscopy applications, utilizing AXSUN's optical miniaturization technology platforms for industries such as on-line chemical and pharmaceutical process control, portable analytical, laboratory and field instrumentation. This is a ?hands-on? position, using Axsun?s new spectroscopic technologies.  In addition to Axsun?s NIR and Raman spectroscopy systems, the candidate will be supporting Axsun?s optical telecommunications systems.

 

Responsibilities: Provide technical customer support to Axsun?s diverse customer base including training, documentation, system installation, and troubleshootingOrganize and manage Axsun?s in-house applications laboratoryDevise experiments, running samples and gathering data for application notes, proofs-of-concept, and trade show presentations  Attend trade shows and technical exhibitionsWork with Marketing and Sales on customer samples as required Work with Axsun?s R&D group as new products and accessories are developed, to help characterize those productsWork closely with Axsun?s Marketing group to assist in qualifying customer requirements and provide product definition to engineering, R&D, and manufacturing organizations

 

Requirements: BS in chemistry, physics, or engineering5 years practical experience in industry using process or analytical spectroscopySpecialization in vibrational spectroscopy preferredStrong computer skills, with experience using chemometric software packages a plusDemonstrated ability to work independently in the development and deployment of analytical spectroscopic applicationsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Expectation of 25-50% domestic and international travel
