We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Application Engineer. This position is responsible for providing technical support to global sales, system integrators and customers regarding Managed Network Systems product field application installations and related issues. An in depth knowledge of hardware and software applications, data basing techniques, structural cabling design, network components (switches, routers, etc.), and network topologies will be crucial. This individual will act as a liaison between Panduit and crucial field application partners such as network management and handheld tester vendors.

 

Job Requirements

 

?  In depth knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN)

?  In depth knowledge of computers (OS and applications installation)

?  Communication with cable installers regarding installation practices and field application problem resolution.

?  Create and deliver technical presentations to Panduit PSCs, consultants, sales personnel, and technical forums (such as BICSI: tradeshows) regarding field application issues for all Managed Network Systems products.

?  Provide consultation to the technical sales force, system integrators, and end users regarding field application problem resolution including site visits after (and possibly prior to) product installation.

?  Coordinate product demonstrations and customer ?bake-offs? (samples, instructions, techniques, etc.) with the sales force.

?  Write technical white papers as needed to address field application issues with marketing, standards groups, sales, etc.

?  Create supporting technical documentation, such as installation tips and product feature highlights.

?  Work with Product Management to ensure that technical information is correct and inappropriate languages for installers/specifies/sales.

?  Work with the engineering laboratory to evaluate application scenarios, problem resolution and equipment.

?  Coordinate new product development activities between Panduit and external equipment/product manufacturers (e.g. hand held cable testers) that is crucial to the success of our field installations.

?  Maintain working knowledge all critical equipment to aid in testing and debug of installations

?  Excellent oral and written communication skills

?  Travel 50%+

?  Minimum BSEE/ BSCS; preferred MSEE / MSCS

? 5-10 years related experience
