Job description: Field Applications Engineer -Software

Responsibilities
? Provide technical support to key/strategic accounts
? Assist sales representatives with technical information in sales activities
? Customize and integrate company products to meet demands of Americas customers
? Provide demos and benchmarking for customers and trade shows
? Provide training on products to customers, partners, marketing and sales


Experience

? Experience in MPEG, H.264, and test environments for set-top box design and embedded systems development for cable, interactive television, or digital satellite
? Knowledge of C programming language
? Candidate will be expected to learn and understand strategic customer requirements, and promote effective systems solutions. Independently determine optimal methods for solving complex problems and conduct extensive research to develop solutions. This often requires working with the customer to modify existing designs and to develop solutions including low level software drivers and application code
? Understanding of STB architecture and required functionality
? Knowledge of embedded OS and Linux programming, some embedded Java knowledge a plus
? Automated / bulk testing experience

? Ability to communicate effectively with customer and solve problems remotely

? Some programming and development skills a plus.
? Outstanding people skills and ability to work within a team
? Critical thinking abilities and solid problem resolution skills
? Strong customer management skills with the ability to understand changing requirements, manage expectations, and deliver expected results in a timely manner
? Ability to quickly understand, modify and adapt existing code to changing requirements
? Willingness to travel and be on customer site when needed.



REQUIREMENTS: BSEE+ 2-3 yrs experience
