Field Engineer
Schindler Elevator Corporation designs, manufactures, installs, modernizes and services a broad range of elevators, escalators and moving walks for various people-moving applications. The Company is the North American operation of the Swiss-based Schindler Group, the world?s largest escalator manufacturer and the second largest elevator manufacturer.
We currently have an opportunity for a Field Engineer based out of our US Headquarters located in Morristown, NJ. This position will support modernization installation efforts in the Field with remote and on-site engineering consultation for all types of modernization contracts.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support for all modernization installations. Work with peers to contribute to the long-term product improvement initiatives.
Provide support for pilots and warranty rollouts.Work to gather, catalog and distribute technical letters on installation/product issues.Contribute to technical training of field and HQ personnel.Make regular inspection trips to jobs in progress to consult with Regional Field Engineers, Adjusters and Mechanics on problems encountered with product installation/start-up.On an as-needed basis, provide assistance to jobs with malfunctioning equipment, create and implement corrective action plans.For long-term solutions, create action plans to communicate and prevent repeat problems.Determine from patterns of complaints when a problem is repetitive and warrants a change in design/instruction.Approx. 30% travel within the US
Qualifications:
BSEE required, advanced degree is highly desirable 3 to 7+ years experience in designing, troubleshooting, installing, maintaining and/or adjusting elevator systemsExperience working with control systems. Schindler Elevator control systems experience is a plus.
