Field Engineer II - ATC Radar

Job Description: RTSC is

currently seeking candidates for Field Engineer II to work with our Systems Installation and Test Teams. Candidates for this position should be prepared for extensive travel (up to 100%) throughout the USA and the opportunity to work as a Team Member and a contributor to an important Air Traffic Control Radar program. A focus on and commitment to high quality work is essential. The Raytheon Site Implementation Teams, which typically consist of three members, will be traveling to and working at FAA and DoD radar sites located throughout the USA.



Typically, the work scheduling involves six to ten weeks of effort at each system installation site. Upon completion of work at one site, the installation team will be assigned to another site. Some of the system installation sites are at remote locations.



An individual working as a Field Engineer II will participate in and may supervise the day to day on-site activities for a Raytheon Team involved in the installation, testing and integration of new Digital Air Surveillance Radar systems. The Team Lead plans and directs the daily work activities including the installation of system hardware and associated conduit, cabling, wiring, communications and grounding systems in accordance with installation design data, systems manuals, applicable regulations, codes and standards for electrical and radar systems installation. The Installation Team Lead will coordinate the on-site work plans and schedules with Raytheon Program Management personnel and with customer (FAA/DoD) site personnel. Following the completion of the installation, the system will be integrated and tested based on a structured system test procedure.





Required Skills: You must have at least five (5) years prior experience in installation, start-up, test and troubleshooting of FAA or military air traffic control radar systems or Air Traffic Control communications systems. Candidates must be familiar with electrical codes and compliance with FAA equipment installation regulations, including grounding systems. Candidates should be highly proficient with the use of hand and power tools and electrical test equipment. You must be willing and able to climb and work on radar site towers. You must be eligible for obtaining a US Government Secret Level Security Clearance. You must be willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time away from home to work at installation sites nationwide.








Desired Skills: Prior supervisory experience is desirable. You should have a high level of skill in personal computer use and applications. Demonstrated experienced in ensuring safe work practices and maintaining effective communications with Team members and customer representatives.





Required Education : An Associates degree in a technical field and 6 years of relevant experience OR at least 10 years relevant experience with no Degree. Relevant experience includes military experience and training in radar systems or similarly complex electronics equipment.
