Fire Engineer

-Develop design strategies and methodologies for various fire safety engineering projects
-Conduct detailed fire modeling for new and existing building designs, include evacuation models.
- Development of Fire Dynamics simulator as a flame spread model.
- NFPA 130 and California Building Code Review and analysis of underground subway stations.
- Application of applicable prescriptive buiding codes to major commericial and industrial projects.
- Development of performance based fire safety strategies including the presentation, negotiation and documentation of the strategies for review by authorities.

Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines
- Attend meetings with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them
- Visit project sites during construction
- Work under nominal supervision for all but demanding work
- Take responsibility for definable parts of a project

Requirements:

- Master's of Science or Master's of Engineering degree with 3 years of experience.
- Fluency with Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), Evacuation Simlulation Modeling and Excel.
- Experience with ASTM/ISO fire testing.
- Fire models for smoke flow and egress from underground subway stations/rail links
- Ability to apply the the Uniform Codes, the Calfornia Building and Fire Codes as well as International Code Council Codes.
- Proven experience in reviewing fire safety plans of large multi-use structures including casino hotels, hospitals and railway stations.
