Department Description: Motorola's Connected Home Voice and Data Solutions team is the worldwide provider of choice for connected home solutions to keep people informed, connected, and entertained. We develop cable modems, DSL modems, integrated wireless gateways, and Voice over IP (VoIP) multimedia terminal adapters. We target customers in MSO, Telco, and retail spaces.

Responsibilities/Expectations: The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing projects and initiatives to implement process, procedures and new/updated tools needed to promote and manage high quality product from the firmware development team. Responsibilities will include: leading process and tool requirements acquisition and design, guiding implementation teams; developing/installing/administering/maintaining software/firmware productivity tools; training others on process, procedure and tool usage; and participation within internal and external groups on Motorola product quality initiatives.

Knowledge Skills: Candidate must be degreed with 8+ years of software environment development experience (15+ years with Associates degree or equivalent). Candidate must have excellent written and communications skills, be able to lead teams at a project level and train wider audiences. Candidate must have expert skills in ClearCase, ClearQuest, database administration, scripting and MAKE utilities. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the software/firmware product life cycle. Candidate should have previous experiences in software maturity efforts such as ISO9000, TL9000 or SEI-CMM.
