Forming Analyst

 

Dofasco USA Inc.  is a leading North American steel solutions provider.

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position as a Forming Analyst.

 

Position Description:

?  Perform Circle Grid Strain Analysis and Thickness Strain Analysis at die shops and stamping plants and prepare accurate reports on forming analysis for the customer on a timely basis.

?  Gather necessary information from other Dofasco departments to complete the forming report for the customer.

?  Assist customers on Early Vendor Involvement (EVI) projects.

?  Recommend and follow-up on changes in material, dies, press set-up, etc. to ensure that Dofasco material will safely form the required part.

?  Provide forming assistance for parts currently in production.

?  Identify opportunities to reduce customers? costs in their manufacturing operations.

 

Qualifications:

?  Materials or Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.

?  Understanding of steel and its mechanical properties.

?  General knowledge of manufacturing processes including stamping and rollforming.

?  Teaming skills.

?  Good listening and verbal communication skills.

?  A self-starter with the ability to adapt to an active and changing work environment.

?  Must have a valid driver?s license and reliable transportation.

?  Must be able to travel freely within NAFT.

?  Must be able to visually resolve fine dimensions.
