Fuel and Lubes Chemist

CITY: Grove City STATE: Pennsylvania COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Job Summary: Lubrication Engineer to perform studies and analysis on fuels and oils for diesel engines used in locomotives, ships, and stationary power Essential Functions: New Engine Design Oil Specification. Evaluation of Diesel fuels from all countries to understand the impact to GE Diesel engines. Make recommendations regarding lubricating oil suppliers and oil additive packages. Customer fleet evaluation of oil chemistry for trends and adherence to contracts. Running oil approval testing through engine endurance running. Will be part of failure analysis teams dealing with engine bearings, rings, liners, pistons, turbos, and others.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Quals: A. BS in Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Oil/Fuel Background B. Minimum of three years of experience in Oil Chemistry and/or Fuel Analysis C. Experience or education relating to Diesel, Gasoline, or Gas Reciprocating Engine Operation Eligibility Reqs: You must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered You must be 18 years or older You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating You must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time You must be able to travel internationally You must be able to work in the United States on a permanent basis

Desired Quals: A. Understanding of Tribology B. Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification C. Masters or advanced degree a plus D. Experience with finite element analysis E. Experience with Gamma Technologies engine modeling software F. Experience with Fluent CFD software G. Experience with engine testing and data acquisition Work Traits: A.
