GTS Information Specialist

The GTS Information Specialist directly serves the needs of the Staff Engineer of Global Technical Support (GTS). In addition, the position provides ad hoc support to the GTS Manager, as well as other Hanover Managers and the entire Hanover organization and its external constituents. Specifically this would also include maintaining and updating a web based technical library on Hanover?s central server to support the technical requirements of Hanover?s Operation Group both Domestic and International. This database would include Hanover Specifications, Manufacturer?s data, operations manuals, best practices, Technical Bulletins, and any other data deemed necessary to Fleet Operations and Customer service:

? Create and organize a Technical Library suitable for GTS needs

? Scan older data that is paper based and organize in electronic format

? Create a file search system so data can be easily accessed

? Have knowledge of CAD files and create links for specific packages

? Create unit data files for Hanover?s rental fleet as each unit is refurbished

? Act as the resource manager to collect unit data from all service facilities and compile in a usable format

? Collect and maintain Rotary Screw unit data

? Compile and create data base for production and process equipment

? Design a directory with web links to outside resources

? Act as central technical data acquisition for Hanover

? Work with web design and software developers to ensure a smooth transition from the existing data system to web based systems.

 

Skills/RequirementsIntermediate (or better) skills for all Microsoft products, particularly Office suite (e.g., Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Project, Access, Word, etc.). Expert at record keeping; basic mathematical computations, basic understanding of the principles of accountingIntermediate (or better) verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express oneself concisely and clearly using correct grammar.

 

Educations/ExperienceBachelor of Science degree preferred but not required with at least five years of maintaining a technical data base or equivalent experience;Prefer a background in the Natural Gas Compression Industry with specific knowledge of the terminology used in the industry
