Job Description
Power Scheduler (2) NE and West
Performs a variety of tasks related to the optimization, nomination, balancing and
invoicing of fuel and electrical energy sales, purchases and transportation.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Projects short and long-term electric energy and fuel requirements
2. Assists with forecasting daily wholesale power and fuel prices and market trends
3. Optimizes power and fuel purchases among multiple supply and transportation options
4. Allocates wholesale power and fuel purchases in accordance with contractual obligations
5. Assists with daily, monthly and other purchases of wholesale power and fuel
6. Nominates daily wholesale power and natural gas purchase and transportation volumes
7. Monitors daily natural gas consumption and re-nominates as needed
8. Reconciles wholesale power and fuel purchase, sales, transportation and consumption
volumes
9. Monitors and controls natural gas transportation imbalance accounts
10. Assists with the planning and design of wholesale power and fuel contracts and agreements
11. Confirms bi- lateral energy and capacity transactions and schedules with third-parties
12. Submits and confirms balanced schedules to WEST REGION OR NE REGION
13. Monitors WEST REGION OR NE REGION transmission congestion and determines impacts to AE energy schedules
14. Issues generating unit dispatch and commitment orders to the power plants
15. Monitors and coordinates generating unit status and performance among affected parties
16. Determines daily energy pricing for wholesale power supply contracts
17. Analyzes and confirms WEST REGION OR NE REGION settlement charges
18. Compiles information and data to substantiate disputes of WEST REGION OR NE REGION settlement charges
19. Provides accounting support for wholesale power and fuel transactions
20. Compiles monthly wholesale power and fuel purchases, sales, and consumption reports-
Applies new technology to improve processes and communications.
21. Cross-trains in related areas as required
