GeoTechnical Engineering Dept. Mgr.

A top tier national consulting firm is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer wanting to take the ?next step? in his or her career.  You will have good experience with deep foundations, design casings, driven pilings, slope stability analysis, etc. Some construction experience helps. Do some field work, classifying soils in accordance with ASTM D 2487, logging and classifying rock cores, overseeing the collection of undisturbed soil samples, and overseeing the collection of environmental soil and groundwater samples evaluation and rehabilitation of embankment and concrete dams. You have sound understanding of soil mechanics and laboratory testing methods. You?ll write reports and contribute to a growing office. Additional responsibilities will include working with project managers to plan and lead subsurface investigations, perform geotechnical analyses, and develop geotechnical reports. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for assisting project managers with the development of designs, including the development of contract plans and specifications. You?ll also be involved with various aspects of environmental restoration projects, site assessments, site remediation activities. Must be a self-starter, team oriented, and have good communication skills. Good technical writing abilities, communication, and organizational skills are a must. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and MathCAD

Required Skills:  You must have a BSCE and a PE along with a knowledge of AutoCAD & MathCAD. You?ll have good experience with deep foundations, design casings, driven pilings, slope stability analysis, etc. Some construction experience is a plus.  Oversee geotechnical explorations including sampling and logging.  Perform geotechnical analyses for slope stability, settlement, and foundation design projects. Undertake / supervise Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and contaminant remediation projects.Prepare geotechnical / environmental technical reports for a variety of projects (commercial, industrial, or residential developments, transportation, resource industry, utilities, building foundations).
