 Description

The core responsibilities of the Global Process Engineering Manager is to develop global equipment specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures which insures global manufacturing process harmonization with all Colorcon sites. This position involves performing process engineering related tasks, managing and assigning tasks to regional process engineering support. Supervises standard project methodology for executing project plans for process improvements. Coordinates and assists in the transition of proven formula scale up from lab to the manufacturing floor. Manages process-engineering work related to global plant chemical and batch manufacturing processes. This position requires a self-starter with good organization skills, with independent thinking, decision-making and quick action.

Responsibilities & Duties

Develop global equipment specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures, which insures global manufacturing process harmonization with all Colorcon sites.
Responsible for batch process optimization of existing and new formulation transitions from current blending technologies to new blending technologies.
Responsible for overseeing standard project methodology for process optimization and improvement project plans assigned to regional process engineers.
Prepares the necessary documentation and procedures associated with equipment specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures.
Responsible for transitioning scale up and process optimization from lab to operations through documentation and operator training.
Manages chemical process optimization supporting the coating and excipient chemistry.
Designates project timelines, establishes work priorities, and evaluates cost and time requirements.
Optimizes existing and new process manufacturing and cleaning in order to decrease manufacturing cycle times.
LManages project budgets within the approved capital amount.
Requisitions equipment, components and supplies for process engineering projects, interacting with vendors to obtain price and product information.
Assigns, writes and performs validation IQ/OQ and PQ protocols and reports to meet cGMP regulations.
Provides process-engineering support for all Global Colorcon Sites.


 Required Skills

Requirements

Requires a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field and five years of engineering or related experience. Experience in the pharmaceutical field with knowledge of cGMP, granulating and solid dose manufacturing a plus. Worked in a process engineering role supporting new product development in scale up to the manufacturing floor. Experience with standardizing manufacturing methodologies. Experience with batch manufacturing equipment such as blenders, granulators, coating equipment, fluid bed dryers and vacuum conveying equipment. Experience in lean manufacturing and high velocity manufacturing. Requires knowledge of engineering principles and procedures, design applications, and processes and systems appropriate to related discipline. Has ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have strong project management skills and have the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, MSProject. Autocad knowlege a plus
