Decision Support, Engineering Analyst - Mountain View

Position based in Mountain View, CA.

We are looking for strong technical candidates to analyze access and usage patterns for Google's applications and services utilizing data mining techniques. You will work with huge data sets, write scripts to automate data extraction, test business and product hypotheses, and build monitoring/reporting dashboards. This position will also be responsible for tool building, both in terms of the backend (e.g., database) as well as front-end (e.g., web tools).

Requirements:B.S. degree in technical discipline. MS preferred. Experience in scripting in a major scripting language such as perl or python. Python is desirable. Strong understanding of databases, data warehouses, statistical methods and tools, internet architecture, and web services. Database query experience (e.g. SQL). Solid understanding of UNIX/Linux operating systems. Experience with HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and/or other web technologies desired (for building automated reports/dashboards) Experience with statistical data analysis strongly preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. High energy, strong team player. Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams. About Google:
