Network Engineer, Deployment - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for superior network Engineers to help build, implement and maintain one of the world's most advanced network infrastructures.
The ideal candidate is team-oriented and a fast learner with excellent network installation, management and troubleshooting skills. Google is looking for both junior and senior engineers for this role.

Responsibilities:
Deploy new equipment to support Google's rapidly-growing network infrastructure around the globe.
Oversee and perform upgrades of network equipment such as routers and switches.
Participate in the growth of Google: enable the introduction of new products and services on our really cool global network.
Work with advanced technologies such as SONET equipment, 10 Gig Ethernet, Optical Layer Transmission gear (DWDM).
Provision Dark Fiber, OC-192 and other long-haul circuits from world-wide carriers.
Requirements:
Junior candidates should have a minimum of 1-3 years ISP-level network installation, network operations center, or tier 1-2 support OR superior corporate enterprise/IT network infrastructure skills.
Senior candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience, with an emphasis on in-the-field network installation/implementation experience, especially in multi-tenant datacenter/POP environments.
Expertise in Hands-on configuration and installation of switch and router hardware, or physical layer hardware.
Experience in AC/DC power, structured cabling and large network equipment installation.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and UNIX/Linux fundamentals.
Ability to work independently, on a team, and managing contractors.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Flexibility regarding 25% - 50% travel.
