Senior Search Quality Statistician - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Help evaluate and improve Google web search and other search applications. The Senior Search Quality Statistician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring search quality.

Responsibilities:
Research and develop methods for measuring and analyzing search quality.
Lead investigations into multiple streams of search quality data.
Design experiments to answer targeted questions.
Find innovative ways to use Google data to improve existing systems and processes.
Serve as a general statistical consulting resource for Google engineers.
Requirements:
PhD in statistics or MS with equivalent experience.
Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
Substantial real-world experience, especially in data analysis, predictive modeling and experimental design.
Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
Ability to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
Expertise in statistical software (R, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
Proficiency with databases and scripting languages (such as Python).
