Software Quality Engineer - Seattle/Kirkland
This position is available in Phoenix, AZ, Mountain View, CA, Newport, CA, New York, NY and at our Seattle Engineering Center located in Kirkland, WA.
Do you want to work with some of the best Engineers in the world, helping to create Google's newest generation of products? We are looking for all levels of software engineers to work as part of our testing team. Google QA Engineers will search for, investigate, report, and track defects. Utilize your software skills to drive test planning, develop the test environment, create test automation, execute functional tests, deliver in depth defect report analysis, and problem isolation. Talented team members will have ample opportunity to lead and mentor others at Google.
In addition, strong candidates will have one or more of the following:
Testing and Automation experience
Software Internationalization or Localization.
Experience leading and managing Engineering teams.
Demonstrated experience with:
Open source test automation tools.
Testing software in a distributed networking environment.
Testing large scale enterprise products.
Relational Databases or programming in SQL.
Testing ETL and data warehouse applications.
TCP/IP network programming and various protocols.
Linux kernel, OS design, and clustering systems.
Security Testing.
Qualifications:
Passion for testing and the ability to work independently on diverse problems.
Team Orientation and leadership potential.
Outstanding school or work performance.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Diverse interests and a passion for technology.
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Highly proficient scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Python, Shell).
Working knowledge of C, C++, or Java.
Highly proficient in a Unix/Linux environment.
Deep knowledge of internet technologies.
