User Interface Design Lead - Mountain View

This position is located in Mountain View, CA.

Google is seeking a UI Design Lead to help design and/or prototype the next generation of innovative and user-friendly Google products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading a user centered design process for a major web product or service. He or she will have a broad understanding of complex, consumer-oriented systems and the methods for their creation, including participatory design and rapid prototyping. Significant experience with leading or managing the design for one or more complex web-based systems is strongly desired, as is the ability to effectively negotiate interactions between designers and engineers. A strong technical background is also desired. This position offers a combination of hands-on design work and leadership opportunities.

Requirements:

MS in human-computer interaction or related field preferred (BS or MS in Computer Science or related field a big plus).
Demonstrated experience in designing extremely usable, consumer-oriented web-based interfaces.
Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
Expert HTML, Javascript, CSS skills.
