Group Director Outsourced Engineering

The broad capabilities of Triumph Aerospace Systems Group include the design and development, manufacture and life cycle support of mechanical, electro mechanical, hydraulic and hydro mechanical control systems as well as metallic structural details and assemblies.? We offer integrated solutions for complex systems by providing unique capabilities and synergies with other Triumph Group companies as well as third party suppliers who work under the aegis of the Group.? We are seeking a Group Director Outsourced Engineering to join our team in support of these efforts.? This position will be located in the Group Headquarters in Clemmons, North Carolina and will report directly to the Group President.

Job Summary: Is responsible for the implementation and management of the on-going relationship with our engineering outsourcing partners.? The position will lead the implementation and manage the future steady state relationship.? Position will have high management visibility.? Will work directly with individual company Engineering leaders and Presidents to address current and future engineering planning and staffing needs while managing an international, multi-location outsourcing partnership.

?Major Accountabilities:

1.??????? Serve as Triumph Group?s primary point of contact with outsourcing partners.

2.??????? Create and update common implementation and reporting templates.

3.??????? Development and reporting of metrics.

4.??????? QA and delivery of Work plan and specific reports.

5.??????? Forecast future business requirements.

6.??????? Manage overall project financials.

7.??????? Identify opportunities for process and technology standardization and rationalization.

8.??????? Develop and implement engineering procedures to streamline processes and improve company?s competitive position.

Attributes/Skills Required:

1.??????? Eight ? 10 years of experience in an engineering function in a manufacturing environment.

2.??????? Three or more years of experience managing large complex projects.

3.??????? Leadership of the engineering resources.? Marketing experience is a plus.

4.??????? Strategic thinker.

5.??????? Ability to simplify complex situations and issues and develop a measurable action plan and common vision.

6.??????? Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people.

7.??????? Ability to multi-task in a matrixed organization.

8.??????? Ability to learn quickly and focus resources on a common vision.

9.??????? Applies knowledge of current technologies and market demand to support business growth.

10.???? Ability to apply knowledge of systems engineering methodology and techniques to lead the development, validation and management of systems, subsystems and component level requirements.

11.???? Skilled in the use of spreadsheet and presentation tools to enable communication and analysis.

12.???? Strong organizational skills.

13.???? Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.

Physical Limitations: ??This position will require 50% travel in the first year and 25% subsequently.? Must be able to sit for long periods of time, hear, speak and see.

Minimum Education Required: ??Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

?

Minimum Years of Experience Required: ??Eight to ten years in a manufacturing (aerospace preferably) environment.
