Mid sized company located outside of South Tampa has an immediate DIRECT opening for an HVAC Engineer.
SUMMARY
This position involves taking a leadership role in the design and cost effective manufacturing of AC systems for specialized applications. The primary focus will be on producing new designs that take full advantage of advanced technologies and are suited for volume manufacturing. Continuous improvement of existing products will also be emphasized. The successful candidate must be comfortable in a wide range of roles, including technical support of sales, and have highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties:
Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Plans and directs support personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design, and customer specifications.
Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Designs products and systems to interface with machines, hardware, and software.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May require contact with draftspersons for direction in resolving drawing and design issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires accredited four-year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, MS or PhD preferred. HVAC systems design, development and application required. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3-D rendering software. AutoCad experience, knowledge and background in hydraulics or pneumatics will be very helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate with other engineers, support staff, line supervisors, customers, sales staff and management using oral, written and electronic methods.
