Hardware Engineer

The Hardware Engineer will join the team of developers responsible for Ambient?s Broadband over Power Line (BPL) networking products.

Responsibilities will include:

? Design and implement embedded hardware products to support the Ambient Corporation BPL platform. These may include but are not limited to in house design efforts and management of outsourced design efforts.
? Continuing engineering on existing Ambient Corporation BPL products
? Work with Manufacturing to provide a smooth transition of product from engineering to the customer.

Requirements include:

? 4-6 years analog and digital system design experience.
? Able to self-start and quickly contribute to product development.
? Power Supply system design experience a plus.
? Networking system design experience a plus.
? Mentor/Viewlogic and Cadence Allegro experience a plus.
? Startup experience is desirable.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
? Proven ability to work independently, showing initiative, creativity and energy is required.

The position will challenge the candidate to develop the electronics for BPL products. Circuit types to be developed may include: power supplies (linear and switching), wired and RF data communications. Digital hardware of any type may be included in the system being developed.

Candidates should have a BSEE with a minimum of 4 years of design experience. Product design experience will be required. A good balance between theoretical/analytical skills and laboratory engineering skills will be helpful in being considered for the position.
