Hardware/Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities :   The primary responsibility for this position will be to write, modify and debug firmware for embedded products. Additional responsibilities in electrical circuit design, testing, and documentation for production as well as defining test requirements.  Will be involved in product design of weighing instrumentation products. Responsibilities will also include interfacing with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing in the specification, design, and release of new products, as well as coordinating with other hardware, software, and mechanical engineers during the design process. Required to arranging pilot builds of new products and validation and verification of new designs.  Will be required to work with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering to address product quality and production issues.

Qualifications:

? Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering or similar field

? Experience:  3 or more years in embedded firmware and/or circuit design and development

? Background in analog, digital, and power supply design

? Mastery of the ?C? programming language, C# experience also desirable. 

? Embedded programming and debugging experience

? Project management skills with attention to detail

? Strong computer skills ? including MS Office Applications (MS Word, Excel, and Access)

? Ability to express ideas clearly and communicate effectively

? Knowledge of how to arrange pilot builds of new products and validation and verification of new designs

? Familiarity with Ethernet communications and Ethernet IP

 

Desired Qualifications:

? OrCad Capture schematic design software

? Strong mechanical aptitude

? SourceSafe familiarity

? Exposure to various compilers, emulators, and debugging environments would be very beneficial

? Experience in the weighing industry

? Experience in an IS0-9000 compliant design environment
