Hardware Test Engineer - (L-3 PHOT14063)

L-3 PHOTONICS is part of Communication Systems-West, a division of L-3 Communications. The company is located in beautiful Carlsbad, CA, a coastal city within the greater San Diego area. L-3 PHOTONICS develops and manufactures advanced photonic systems and components for the US Government and is a provider of high-speed photonic networks for the aircraft industry.

We currently have an opening for a Test Engineer with hands on experience. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the design and build of test fixtures as well as test implementation. Responsibilities:
? Electronic and software design for prototyping systems and hardware
? Electro-Mechanical test design and set up including test fixtures and test beds
? Testing of prototypes at the board level
? Test reports and configuration documentation

Requirements:
? BSEE along with 5+ years relevant test experience
? Ability to troubleshoot and test at the board level
? Experience writing software for data collection and analysis
? Eager to gain new expertise and quick to pick up required skills
? Only US citizens holding an active security clearance will be considered

Working Knowledge and Experience in the Following Areas Highly Desirable:
? Prior programming experience using one or more: C#, Visual Basic, VB.NET, Labview
? Experience using Access and Excel
? Basic understanding of mechanical design principles
