Hydraulic Engineer

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

To assist Application Engineer and Sales in selection of pumps for a given applications. Review of sump design and configuration per accepted Peerless and Hydraulic Institute standards to offer comments to improve pump reliability. Supply hydraulic guarantees for pump performance. Supply support for the operations group in pump performance and acceptance.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Supply hydraulic guarantees to specification requirements based on recent actual test results to gain market share.Review hydraulic specifications and offer comments for product offering and improvements.Review actual job requirements to make initial trim selection to minimize potential rework.Review actual test reports for acceptance per agreed upon criteria in job requirements.Issue hydraulic rework as needed to meet job performance requirements.Store and maintain approved hydraulic test reports in approved format and location.Assist in hydraulic performance benchmarking and improvements.Assist in computational flow analysis of existing hydraulic offerings.Maintains excellent relationships and communication with Applications Engineers, Sales team members and test lab personnel.Other tasks as required and directed from time to time.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 Requires a bachelor?s degree in engineering or related area, and at least 5 years experience. Familiarity with the fundamental of fluid dynamics.Skilled with Microsoft Office tools.Ability to handle test equipment and instrumentation.Good interpersonal skills.Able to perform a wide variety of tasks to excellent quality levels and to the required deadlines.A wide degree of creativity, autonomy, imagination and latitude is expected.
