Industrial / Applications Engineer

INTEWORX.NET seeks an applications engineer to specialize in software applications in industrial environments. He/She will have the opportunity to work on industrial control projects, software development  projects, and work directly with customers. Applications engineers must be versatile in order to perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following tasks: ordering software for projects, researching new computer and software products, creating custom programs, testing custom software, programming control and database applications, trouble shooting control projects, preparing project documentation and providing technical phone support  to customers. Applications engineers also assist with customer proof-of-concept, prototype projects, and sales presentations.

 

This person will need to have strong organization and communication skills. Organization skills are important to manage multiple projects as well as providing documentation, and project cost analysis. Verbal and written communication skills will be vital in dealing with internal engineers, as well as the ability to translate technical information into layman terms for customer support sales and marketing purposes. It is important for this individual to be able to represent the company well when dealing with customers and vendors. This engineer must be able to work independently, and in a team environment.

 

The most desirable applicants will have a BS degree in computer or electrical engineering or computer science. It is important that this candidate has had experience with PC's, control systems, and PLC's. The applicant should have programming experience in ASP, Visual Basic, XML, Java, C/C++, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server and 3D graphics like 3D Studio. An added plus would be applicants that have had some sales experience of any kind and/or have taken some business classes. This position will work out of the INTEWORX.NET office and have the opportunity to go out in the field with project startups and sales presentations.
