Industrial Engineer - Intermagnetics

Working under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, and with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Supervisors, support the short and long-term growth plans of the Magnet Business Group.

*Coordinate with the production supervisors and manufacturing engineers, to support the following activities:
"?Set and maintain all production routing and
standards in MK system, including changes
occurring from ECO"&tm;s and new product development
"?Help develop production metrics and targets
"?Follow through with implementation of improvement
activities
"?Assist in creating reports appropriate to monitor
performance
"?Drive ongoing and continuous improvement activities
*Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Supervisors to achieve overall improvement plans in support of targeted production metrics
*Optimize information flow through the organization to promote effective communication of accurate actual costs, favorable performance, and areas of opportunity
*Optimize material flow through the entire value stream, from supply base evaluation to plant layout.
*Support Production Supervisors and Mfg Engineers, in:
"?Ensuring the attainment of the weekly production
targets.
"?Layout of equipment and areas to optimize flow of
Labor, Materials, Cycle Time, and Safety.
"?Assistance in development of a training program
for the Shop personnel to ensure the continued
presence of a highly skilled work force
"?Preparation of the annual budget process by
providing input for:
oProduct Standards and routings
oIRD Programs
oTraining Needs
oCapital equipment and changes
*All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*Strong interpersonal skills.
*Experience with information systems such as MRP, ERP and supporting software platforms.
*Demonstrated working knowledge or Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation.
*Results oriented, hands-on mentality and Can-Do Attitude.
*Full working knowledge of formal production preparation practices (APQP and/or Six Sigma).
*Able to effectively communication with all levels of personnel; ranging from shop floor to executive management.
*Proven project leadership and presentation skills.

Required Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
*Associates Degree in Engineering
*8 years manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
*Bachelors in Engineering
*Industrial Engineering Degree Preferred
