Juno Lighting Group comprises a family of eight lighting category brands, and is a single source of lighting manufacturer for commercial, retail, industrial and residential applications throughout North America. Our Des Plaines location seeks an Industrial Engineer. Overall Purpose and Objectives


? The primary Function of the Industrial Engineer is to support the Des Plaines Facility


? Establish and implement best practices in all processing areas


? Perform work Measurements and establish standards that will control and minimize operating costs


? Strong emphases on work standards, methods, procedures, safety and cost reduction


? Through the use of Industrial Engineering techniques to achieve maximum utilization of staffing, equipment and investment dollars.


Primary Responsibilities


? Determine and implement best practices in all processing areas within JLG ? Assess current operational layouts and determine needed modifications to improve operations and flow ? Develop short and long term facility layouts ? Develop engineering standards to assist in labor management system ? Coordinate productivity standards to control and minimize operating expenses ? Ability to evaluate and cost justify new technology and provide return on investment details ? Establish tools that will increase productivity ? Establish optimum staffing standards ? Conduct ergonomics evaluation and re-design of individual process areas ? Recommend to design team adjustments in design to eliminate scrap, maximize time efficiency and eliminate safety risks ? Ability to challenge the existing processes and provide alternative solutions ? Develop and maintain routings and process sheets in Baan System








Qualifications


Minimum four year degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering plus 3/5 years experience/ or 7/10 years experience in Industrial Engineering


Outstanding Oral and written communication skills


Knowledge and experience in the lighting industry preferred


Knowledge of programs i.e. CAD, Statistical Process Control (SPC), BAAN


Knowledge in statistical techniques


Technical experience in lean, Kaizen, flow, cell manufacturing, layout, assembly production highly desirable
