Installed Base Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:
*Initiate continuous quality and redesign for reliability into subsystems and components.
*Identify root cause of electrical-related issues with existing products in production or in the field, brainstorm potential solutions, verify and implement corrective and preventive action.
*Drive projects to reduce the cost, manufacturing effort and improve serviceability of electrical components and systems in existing products.
*Pioneer selection, qualification and deployment of new hardware to replace obsolete or single-source components on existing products. *Update specifications, layouts, wiring diagrams and related documentation associated with existing products.
*Identify, develop and document best practices to improve speed and quality of hardware releases and changes.
*Ensure that existing and new hardware meets all applicable worldwide certification standards and requirements.
*Understand and apply quality and safety processes for development, documentation and manufacturing of electrical components and systems

Qualifications:
*BS Electrical Engineering.
*Minimum of 1 - 2 yr. in an engineering department with component engineering experience.
*Experienced with measurement equipment including but not limited to digital & analog oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, frequency generators, and spectrum analyzers.
*Excellent electronic and electrical circuit analysis skills in time and frequency domain.
*Solid understanding of basic electrical and electronic principles governing the operation of components including, but not limited to, transistors, op-amp, comparators, diodes, relays, transformers, fuses, capacitors, inductors. Solid understanding of basic digital principal such as Boolean algebra, data transmission, memory, address, timing etc.
*Excellent component level troubleshooting skills.
*Experienced with basic software packages including but not limited to MS WORD, EXCEL, PROJECT, ACCESS Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
*Good initiative and multi project accountability.
*Able to define their own detailed tasks within a general engineering assignment and aggressively drive them forward.
*Project management skills and the ability to organize work in an efficient manner in addition to the ability to work well under time constraints.
*Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems and contribute quickly.
*Ability to work in a diverse global environment, influencing and collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously.

Desired:
*Experience in a regulated medical device environment, familiar with FDA QSRs, MDD, IEC, ISO, etc.
*Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
*Board layout skills
*Orcad, Pspice experience
