Instrumentation Reliability Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION: A Fortune 100 manufacturing company with diverse products is looking for an Instrumentation Reliability Engineer that can be based in either Virginia or Louisiana and help support/influence plant personnel in 30 + sites for the North American operations.
? Train and assist personnel in how to prepare Reliability Plans for critical Instrumentation: Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operator Monitoring, critical Repair activities, and Spare Parts bills of materials quality assurance.
? Analyze failures and recommended corrective action.
? Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) teams and use the Apollo RCFA method where appropriate.
? Lead Reliability- focused Failure Modes and Effects Analyses teams where appropriate.
? Partner with Engineering Dept and Sites to establish Design Standards for Instrumentation.
? Functional Owner of the Instrumentation elements of the sites Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance standards for OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity element of Process Safety Management.
? Maintain currency with developments in the Instrumentation fields to recommend improvements to current practices.
? Actively represent corporation in professional organizations such as the ISA.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? BS Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
? 8 + years of related Reliability of Instrumentation experience in a heavy industrial setting such as: Chemicals, Petroleum, Steel, Pulp & Paper, etc.).
? Functional expert in Root Cause Failure Analysis.
? Experience with SAP-PM for reliability data collection and analysis a plus.
? Extensive knowledge in the use and application of predictive technologies (infrared, calibration history, diagnostic software/systems).
? Extensive experience in Instrumentation Reliability and troubleshooting (Transmitters, PLC?s, DCS?s, Sensing Elements, Control Elements, and Valves).
? Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt desired.
? Creatively solve problems and make decisions.
? Will travel to North American manufacturing sites implementing and developing Instrumentation Reliability Engineering.
? Travel 50-75%, as team gets stronger travel will decrease significantly. No weekend travel will be needed and will not conflict with family obligations.
