Project Management and / or Plant Support Background

Downstream Refining & Petrochemicals Major Capital Projects Groups

Supporting Over 40 Refineries & Petrochemical Plants Within the USA and / or Internationally For Plant Automation & Measurement Optimization & Modernization Projects, Plant Revamps, and Plant Technical Support, from FEED and FEL through EPC, to Commissioning and Startup,

And Also In Their
Refining & Petrochemical Complex Support Group
And Also In Their
Upstream Oil & Gas & LNG Major Capital Projects Group
Supporting Major Capital Projects $250MM & Up. These Positions are for Grassroots / Greenfields Facilities Construction Supporting Both Onshore and Offshore Facilities.
These Positions Require Leadership, Coordination, Guidance, Mentoring, and Supervision for all Phases of a Capital Project, i.e., Business Planning, Screening, Design, Execution, and Startup.

Locations: Fairfax, VA  /  Houston, TX  /  Baytown TX / Baton Rouge LA /&International

Salary Ranges: $95,000 - $140,000 Depending On Experience

Roles & Responsibilities:
* Provide Capital Project Support for Process Control Systems as Part of Large-Scale Plant
  Investments and/or Control System Modernization Projects;
  Provide Capital Project Scoping, Execution Planning, Cost Estimating, Front End Engineering,
  Factory Acceptance Testing ( FATS ) & Startup;
* Review Unit Projects for Controllability and Implement Control Strategies for New and Modified
  Equipment;

* Provide General DCS Configuration including Functional Control Systems Design,
  Configuration, Networking Infrastructure, and Control Building Layout;
* Steward the Interfaces among the PMT, MICC Organization, and the EPC Contractor's
Organization with respect to Control and Safety Systems to Ensure Quality and Minimize

  Change Orders;
* Procurement of Control System items including Leading Preparation of Technical Specifications,
Model Identification, Economic Evaluations, Bid Evaluations, Bid Tabulations, Bid
Recommendations;

* Contractor Quality Control, Field Instruments, Control Valves, Plant Automation, Shutdown
  Systems, Instrument Design Philosophy.  
* Participate in P&ID Development and Subsequent Reviews, working closely with Process
Engineers;

* Participate In Hazardous Operations (HAZOP) Reviews;

* Develop and Provide Support for Basic Process Control Applications using Basic Application
Engineering Skills such as Point Configuration, Loop Tuning, and Identification of Process
  Dynamics;
* Development of Control Philosophy, SIS Philosophy, and ESD Hierarchy;

* Implement Technologies to Improve Unit/Refinery Profitability including DMC,
  RTO, etc.;
* Provide Technology Applications & Support in the areas of Instrumentation and
  Control Systems;
* Design and Implement Advanced Regulatory Controls and/or On-Line Blending Applications;
PROVIDE INPUT FOR:
* Operability of the Unit or Plant for Start-Up, Normal, Turndown, and Shutdown Modes;
* Mentor Less Experienced Engineers;
* Participate Actively In Process Control Related Network Activities.
Varies By Position > For DESIRED SKILLS:
* General Plant Automation;
* Basic and / or Advanced Process Control Application Technology;
* Control Systems Honeywell TDC-3000 Including HPM Experience a plus, will consider
  Candidates with FoxboroIA, Yokogawa, Rosemont, and AllenBradley, etc.
* Multivariable Constraint Control Aspentech DMCplus;
* Operations Guidance Tools, e.g. Alarm Management;

* Process Control Historian / PHD;
* Visual Basic Programming;

* Instrumentation General;
* Process Control Security Practices;
* Risk Assessment Techniques;
* Incident Investigation;

* Standards & Design Practice / Design Specification Development;
COMPETENT IN THE FOLLOWING:

* Control System Engineering Principles, Theories, and Concepts, Applicable Codes, Standards,
  and Trade Practices;

* Risk Assessments;

* Project Economics;

* Training Course Development;

* Process Plant Turnaround Support;
* Drive Best Practices.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Domestic Travel OR Domestic & International Travel Up To 50% Depending On Position.

Some Positions Require International Travel and/or Relocation (usually Family Status)
