The Integrity Management (IM) Plant Engineer will play a key role in delivering BPs IM goals.


 


Accountabilities Include:


Engineer solutions to identified IM action items (generated from Process Hazard Analysis/Major Accident Report (PHA/MAR) studies).

Provide guidance to Projects Engineering on Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements, design safety, assessment of fire, explosion and toxic detection and protection, security aspects of these hazards, and integrated hazard management.

Facilitate/participate in MAR and PHA studies for BPs Alaskas facilities.

Engage the necessary engineering technical authorities to clarify the requirements of BPs IM Guide and site technical practices.

Perform work and develop procedures/policies to address identified integrity gaps (write procedures, perform Safety Integrity Level analysis, develop Safety Critical Equipment listings, etc.).

Participate in the roll out of the new Exploration & Production IM Guide to the line and clearly articulate the requirements for compliance.

Provide engineering support to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Provide general plant engineering duties in support of Operations and Maintenance.

Perform screening studies and execute projects to advance compliance on specific IM issues, including design work and project execution depending on the size of the project.

Participate in the review of corporate Engineering Technical Practices and the development of Site Technical Practices.

Provide assistance to other engineers on such matters as peer technical review, progressing Management of Change (MOC) work, mentoring and knowledge transfer.


 Required Qualifications:


To be considered for the role of IM Plant Engineer applicants must have:


Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.

A minimum of 8 years of experience in the process industry (either upstream, downstream, gas plants, or with engineering and construction contractors).

A Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline.

A minimum of 5 years of direct experience using Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Instrument/Control diagrams. 

A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in the application and interpretation of HAZID, HAZOP, and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) activities. 

Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., OSHA (including Process Safety Management (PSM)), EPA (including Risk Management Plans (RMP)), etc.

Willingness and ability to travel 20% or more of the time to the North Slope of Alaska in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. 





Preferred Qualifications:


In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate: 


Experience in PSM, Mechanical Integrity and MOC. 

Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience with process simulation.

An understanding of the major unit operations associated with upstream topsides engineering, particularly compression, separation and gas dehydration/re-injection.

Strong HSE focus and commitment.

A minimum of 2 years of field or plant operating experience with a proven background in the area of process safety practices.

Familiarity with 29 CFR 1910.119.

Design experience in upstream production facilities and gas plants compressible fluid flow line and equipment sizing (control valves).

Plant start-up and commissioning experience.
