Inventory Specialist/Laboratory Technician

 

JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for researching information for a variety of samples that have or will be tested at the facility. A working knowledge of a number of databases is required. Provide feedback to engineers, laboratory personnel and clients on sample issues. Performs other duties as directed.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research databases and communicate with engineers and laboratory personnel to identify new samples and have them moved to the appropriate storage area.

 

Help any engineer or laboratory personnel needing assistance to find or match samples.

 

Receives instructions from engineers and other laboratory personnel. Act on daily reports to physically remove tested samples from the laboratories and storage locations.

 

Communicate with clients to determine proper dipositioning of samples.

 

Help identify existing samples currently in the tracking system that are missing critical information.

 

Update all tracking records when samples are transferred and/or dispositioned.

 

Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must have good communication and team skills and familiarity with computer applications such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel, Oracle
