Position Description:

Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for a Junior Flow Assurance Specialist (50150284) located in Houston, TX through December 31, 2006.

Qualifications:

This position is intended for a junior engineer, college hire or retool, with research or work experience in one or two disciplines of flow assurance (e.g. hydrates, wax, scale, asphaltene, emulsions, multiphase flow). The successful candidate(s) will be part of the Chevron Energy Technology Company's Flow Assurance Team, based in Houston, TX. The candidate will be expected to provide consultation to operating assets, major capital project teams and will have the opportunity to participate in and provide direction to Flow Assurance research and technology development programs. The candidate shall provide timely technical assistance to project teams for solving the critical production, flow assurance and subsea operability problems. Some travel in support of research and service projects is expected.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
? Flow assurance technical support of operating assets and major capital project teams
? Formulation and execution of research and development projects
? Development & deployment of new technology

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor's degree required in Physics, Chemistry or Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Master's degree preferred

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Experience:
The candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree in science or engineering and a minimum of 5 years of flow assurance related work experience or an advanced degree with thesis topic in an area of flow assurance.

Technical Skills:
Strong background in subsea production system design, multiphase flow simulation (steady state & transient), PVT phase behavior, production chemistry & fluid properties, flow assurance and subsea facilities operations. Able to work with complex tasks, complex projects, and multiple tasks at the same time. Strong PC skills are required.

Leadership / Mentoring:
Ability to provide work direction and mentoring to less experienced engineers and contractors.

Networking:
Must be able to interface with other skills sets of project team and effectively transfer key Flow Assurance data to other project team members in a timely manner.

Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and reporting skills. Respect and analyze inputs from people with a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines, and perspectives,. Competent in standard Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
