Position Description:

Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Junior Process Engineer, located in Houston, TX (0604-50149319) through December 31, 2006.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The candidate will work for Chevron Energy Technology Company. This centralized organization provides technology solutions to existing operations and new developments throughout the world. The candidate is expected to have operating experience in the upstream separation technology. He/she shall be actively engaged in the troubleshooting existing operations of onshore/offshore assets with emphasis on water treatment and management issues.

The candidate shall have knowledge to apply the leading edge separation technology for the upstream Business Units (BU?s) in existing operations and new capital projects in order to maximize production, minimize CAPEX and OPEX. The candidate shall spend 50% of their time shadowing experts providing timely technical assistance to the BU?s for solving critical produced fluid separation problems. The candidate is expected to facilitate upstream technology transfer for the beneficial use of the Chevron organization. The candidate will need to understand the operational and engineering aspects of the reservoir, process, petroleum and environmental applications across a development.


Qualifications:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Assist Business Unit?s in existing operations to solve difficult crude dehydration, slop oil handling, solid handling, and water treatment for injection and discharge issues.
-Deployment and development of new technology
-Participate in industry JIPs and committees focused on oil, water, and solid separation and participate in research as an active member

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must be willing to travel extensively both domestic and international (Up to 35%)
-Safety sensitive position - Subject to random D & A testing
-Able to work with complex tasks, complex projects, and multiple tasks at the same time with minimum supervision.
-Bachelor's degree required in Chemical Engineering; Master?s preferred.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
The candidate shall have experience in oil-water-solid separation who can elevate technology in this area. He/she shall have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in onshore/offshore production operation, chemical treatment, and/or environmental control. Water management and water treating experience is recommended.

Strong background in fluid mechanics, production chemistry, rheology and fluid flow dynamics.
Willing to accept challenges in new opportunities at a fast work pace with minimum supervision. Able to work with complex tasks, complex projects, and multiple tasks at the same time.
Some experience in the area of upstream production separation technology.

Strong verbal and reporting skills with convincing power to convey innovative technology and best practice to the BU?s. Respect and analyze inputs from people with a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines, and perspectives, including field personnel, operators, foremen, engineers and managers. Competent in standard Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Responsible for development and timely deployment of innovative production technology and successful practices in new capital projects and in existing operations of Chevron Business Units.
