Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp., a world leader in the development and design of avionics test equipment for the commercial and military aviation industry with a 50 year history, has an immediate opportunity for a Junior RF/Analog Engineer with manufacturing support responsibilities.

 

Position Description


Tel-Instrument Electronics Inc is seeking a Junior RF design and Manufacturing Support Engineer with responsibilities for basic RF design work under the direction of a senior RF design engineer (simulation, RF system analysis, schematic capture, and layout) and also act in a supportive role to manufacturing (assist in transition of engineering designs to the manufacturing organization, write test software in engineering which could be transitioned to the manufacturing floor, train high level manufacturing technicians on the operation of transitioned products, assist manufacturing technicians in debug support, and also provide feed back to the Director of Manufacturing and the VP of Engineering on corrective actions which might involved schematic changes, parts changes, or testing procedure changes). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently. He/she must be capable of working on multiple tasks and establishing priorities.  A positive ?can do? attitude is essential for this position.  A passion for learning new technologies, being pro-active in design related work, and high intelligence is required.  This position requires a high level of maturity in addition to both excellent verbal and written communications since documentation will be part of the role.  This individual will report into the Engineering Department.

Position Requirements:

 

? BSEE or BSCE with hands on circuit design experience in a commercial or military company that includes schematic capture through PCB fabrication and debug experience required (2 to 4 years range).  Consulting experience that includes only stacking connectorized equipment together will NOT be accepted.

? RF/Analog design experience required (digital design experience with FPGA technology a definite plus).

? Must have direct working experience with a manufacturing environment.

? Must have programming knowledge and experience such as C, C++, VBasic, C#, or LabView. 

? Experience with computer interfaces such as RS232, GPIB, USB preferred.

? Experience working with and programming microcontrollers (8051, Microchip, ARM based, etc.) is a definite plus.

? Experience (No Exceptions) using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other laboratory test equipment.  Need to have actually worked in a development lab debugging circuit boards.

? Ability to read and understand electronic specifications, schematics, and layouts.

? Experience programming microcontrollers preferred but not required.

? Basic knowledge of statistics and how to calculate mean and standard deviations for production and engineering data required.

? Must be people oriented, patient, and ability to work with and train manufacturing personnel.  Ability to explain complex issues to manufacturing personnel using diagrams, charts, or appropriate teaching media.

? Person must have attitude that upgrading and transitioning skills and knowledge from engineering to manufacturing personnel is crucial to producing a superior product and corporate success.

?  Added Plus: Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Visio.
