Position Description:

Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for a LNG Process Engineer position located in Houston TX, through December 31, 2006.

Member of Chevron's LNG Systems Team and LNG Center of Excellence - a growing organization with the objective of providing high quality technical support and direction to our LNG project efforts in order to ensure success of our Global Gas strategies.

Position will entail a substantial amount of business travel, both domestically and internationally. Candidate's ability to relocate as project needs may dictate, will be a factor in selecting the successful candidate.

Qualifications:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Consulting: Provide specialized process engineering support to LNG major capital project teams in areas of concept development, alternative generation, process comparison & selection, optimization, equipment selection, cost estimating, startup and operations (both liquefaction and regasification projects). Provide guidance to project teams concerning the value impact of process decisions on an overall LNG facility and across the entire LNG value chain. Provide guidance to project and asset teams concerning operational issues pertaining to LNG systems. Provide debottlenecking and troubleshooting assistance to operating systems.
- Process Alternatives Assessment: Work with LNG capital project teams to assess process technology alternatives. Develop realistic assessments of the risk and benefits of new technology. Go beyond a process focus to incorporate a system view of all links in LNG value chain. Identify risks and benefits to support high-quality decisions by the capital project teams.
- LNG Center of Excellence: Contribute to growth of a high-impact LNG Center of Excellence within Chevron in order to serve the needs of the LNG project teams and operations. Contribute to development of a Chevron LNG technology position and establishment of Chevron as a leading competitor in the LNG business. Develop LNG technical standards & specifications.
- Technology Scanning: Keep abreast of advances and opportunities in LNG process technology that may have application to Chevron's business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Degree Required in Chemical Engineering

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Extensive background in LNG process engineering (both liquefaction, and regasification), including process design, optimization, startup, commissioning, standards and specifications. Strong understanding of all components & systems within an LNG facility, and issues related to their integration.
- Good working understanding of LNG economics and business case, including LNG facility cost estimating. Analytical experience in preliminary economic screening and assessment desirable.
- Experience with process simulators applied to processes desired. Good skills using typical MS Office PC applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable making presentations to large groups.
- Strong project management skills, able to develop and maintain realistic schedules and cost control for self or a work group. Familiarity with the Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) or similar project management process would be an asset.
