Lab Manager to $160k+ - Freight

Job Description: Challenging career position for lab manager in well known freight company.
Responsibilities:Supervision of Lab Engineers/technicians, prioritization and assignment of workload. Testing, inspection, and assurance that products adhere to strict quality standards; Development and implementation of Test procedures in line with related standards (UL, ANSI, etc.), Establishment of performance goals for the lab, and maintenance of high production/quality standard for the Lab; Overseeing and participating in mechanical, electromechanical, and metallurgical testing in accordance with engineering specifications and relevant standards; Conducts testing, analyzing the results and providing fact that clearly identify potential problems. Participating in the analytical review of new or revised parts, materials, and products; Work closely with Buyers/Suppliers to ensure quality of production product; Oversees, plans, and participates in the maintenance, calibration and testing of equipment and investigates new equipment to better analyze parts and products. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products; including report preparation and distribution of results. Requirements:Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Minimum of 5 years of related laboratory management experience with one of the major testing institutes that perform a broad range of tests and certifications (UL, CSA, ANSI, etc.). Experience in developing test plan and test case scenario documents and automated test tools. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal skills. Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet software, presentation software and electronic calendar and mail software
