LEAD CONTROLS ENGINEER - MANUFACTURING

 

 

Job Description:

 

Engineering Department is currently seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to design and implement improved processes in the casting operation. Primary responsibilities will include:

 

Design, testing and integration of electrical systems / programs to correct process issues.

 

Investigate, recommend, implement new data collection systems, MES, etc.

 

Maintain systems operations inclusive of programming, MES and IT

 

Troubleshoot production process and resolve issues in a timely manner

 

Improve automation of existing molding processes to increase output and yields and improve product quality.

 

Improve assembly automation to improve quality, reduce cost and reduce throughput time.

 

Input to the development of new processing automation to improve processing quality, reduce costs and maintenance.

 

Interface with vendors to ensure smooth transition of design implementation.

 

Capable of working with minimal supervision.

 

Must be willing to adapt and thrive on change.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Required work experience in the following areas:

 

BS in Electrical Engineering ? equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Minimum of 7 years experience. 

 

Through knowledge of PLC programming, HMI interfaces, MES systems, machine control design, control systems communications and network architecture.

 

Must be open for domestic and international travel.

 

Preferred Experience:

 

BS in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of experience. 

 

Demonstrated expertise in program / MES design / improvements.

 

Expertise in RSLogix, Wonderware, automated inspection / data gathering,

 

SQL database and AutoCAD experience a plus.

 

Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or other FDA regulated industry a plus.

 

Validation experience a plus.

 

Knowledge of Six Sigma techniques.

 

Education:

 

BSEE or equivalent
