Eaton Corporation located in Marshall, Michigan at the Proving Ground has an opening for Lead NVH Engineer.

Job Description: Design of test programs in support of NVH requirements for supercharger CV, DV, and PV test programs. Test and analysis of NVH related performance of superchargers on test stand and vehicle environments. Develop new methods for supercharger testing and analysis. Solve customer NVH issues through testing and analysis in lab and at customer site. Develop new tools and techniques for predicting NVH behavior for superchargers early in the design phase. Develop and improve models for nonlinear mechanical and air flow generated noise. Work for continuous improvement of testing practices and procedures. Maintains timely and effective communication with supervisors and peers through avenues such as e-mails, monthly reports and engineering reports. Leads and/or participates on cross-functional project teams. Provides guidance and direction to less experienced engineers and technicians. Works closely with higher level engineers and technical specialists to increase functional knowledge.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. The ideal candidate should possess 5-10 years of experience solving internal combustion engine and/or component NVH issues. Knowledge of rotating dynamics and complex mechanical systems; including rotors, gears, bearings, and isolators would be beneficial. Familiarity with LMS, Head Acoustic, and Rotec systems. Knowledge and experience of dynamics instrumentation, testing, and analysis of rotating machinery. Knowledge and experience with predictive modeling tools with test correlation experience highly desired. Should be able to conduct impact or shaker modal testing and interpret/communicate results. Well-developed communication skills are necessary for direct customer contact and cross-functional meeting. Ability to operate CAD (Pro/Engineer) software and FEA (Ansys) software would be beneficial.
